| Hey Muskie Firsters, I have been enjoying a lot of success taking some of Weston's buddies muskie fishing over the years. This year was no difference. We had a great time, putting 9 muskies in the boat over a week's time. They were from 35-51 inches, with 6 over 40". Topraider was king.....accounted for 7 of the 9. Exciting times for sure. Anyway, attached is the pic of the 51"er, caught by Weston's friend Jordan, and standing next to him is his proud father Jack. Donnie | |||

Posts: 2893 Location: Yahara River Chain | Hey Donnie, I think you realized that the file you emailed me was too large to upload it to the message board. Therefore the message board would not except it. It's good to see you are up to your old tricks on Eagle. I love it. Congrats to Jordan & your son, Weston (he got a 47). It does look like dad (aka Jack) could smile a bit more when doing the picture. That reminds me of when I would take a picutre of Swede and he'd have no smile whatsoever. I once asked him why not? And Swede tells me "fishing is serious business". Did I ever bust a gut on that response! Later Gerard

| Gerard, It wasn't near as funny as Herbie jumping up on the back deck, then off the back deck, then back up on the back deck when you caught that 40"er on White Sand Lake in Bld Jct. back in 1989. He was a hoot....we laughed forever if memory servbes me correctly! Thanks for the help with the file, Donnie | |||

Posts: 2893 Location: Yahara River Chain | For those who would like to see Weston's fish. It is attached. This kid (he only like 16) has caught more big fish than most of us (even a combination of a bunch of us). Donnie, it always a blast fishing with you. Now I got to get some some sleep as another CC MI member has asked me to fish the Alliance Tourney in ER this weekend. | I liked the first pic!!! Not the second one. By holding the fish vertical, you risked harming the fish and possible causing death. Keep the holds to horizontal the the fish will have a better chance! Cory

Posts: 24 | I will be up on Eagle, not at Herbies, Aug 27-Sept 2 and fishing mainly Reserve Bay, Spring Bay, Rice Bay, down through Osbourne. Has anybody been in that area lately that could share some pointers? I have fished Eagle five times and have seen some jumbo's, but no hookups.

Posts: 148 | a horse and an awesome looking fish- congrats! thanks for posting the pic! I'll second Cory- ease up on the vertical hold next time - a fish that fat should be handled extra carefully...

| I do not hold any of the fish in excess of 48" in a vertical hold, and quite frankly, it is detrimental to the fish, as said. I have learned a lesson over the years about hurting a fish, and giving them the support they need. Thanks for pointing that out Cory. Donnie | |||
