I hear of an occasional fish, it gets a very low level stocking but i have heard of some monsters in there. Trolling is legal and I see people taking big pike that way, some nices ones in there. Lots of millfoil with some nice edges.

A friend of mine has a place on Lake D. He is a bass fisherman and occasionally gets bit off by very large Pike and Muskies. He also said that he doesn't see many muskies but when he does they are usually very Big.

I know its an awesome walleye lake and northern lake. It is another brutal boat pressure lake but no muskie pressure at all I hear. The biggest I've heard of is 45''.
So when can you take me out on Crystal lake, their are some very nice wolfs in there.

According to the WI DNR stocking report they have been stocking muskie in Delevan aggressively since 1990. Never fished it so I don’t have much else to offer. Looking forward to checking it out this winter for pike, FLAG

There are Musky in Delavan for sure. About 2 months ago two buddies of mine were fishing for bass and Mike hooked, fought and landed a 51" fish (I have pics but not sure how to post them here) on a bass crankbait and 8# line. 20 minute fight, hand landed (no big net on board!) and the fish was awesome, released without incident and had another one about 44" swimming with it for 5 or 10 minutes of the fight. I've seen 3-4 muskies on Delavan when working other species during the past few years, but there do not seem to be quantities in large numbers. You'll usually see one now and then in the spring when the water's clear- sunning in some of the cabbage. Forage is good, cover is good, conditions are right. I've pondered giving it a go but haven't done so yet- may just have to get out and toss some baits- always too busy working the good crappie and bass in the spring. If someone can tell me the posting procedure for pics- I'll gladly put up one of the photos for everyone.

Todd,
To post pics you need to register to be a MuskieFIRST member, then check the button for "attach a file after posting". After that, its pretty much self-explanatory.

Don't waist your time!
I fish for pike in the same manor as muskies n average a couple hundred pike a year on Delavan. Last year we caught our 1st n 2nd muskies out there, this year 1 so far. I usually take students to show them some pike action. The pike are starting to run small/ not much catch n release going on.

Jerry, that was what I was seeing on delevan when I fished it, lots of 30" class fish on the stringer. Hard to grow big ones when they can't grow big. This lake should have at leasta 40" limit on them.

it's funny too i hear of guys deep panfishing and they can't release a single one because the seagulls get them before they deplete their air bladders. Some nice fisherman on that lake.

My partner and I had 2 nice Muskies follow a buzz bait, and landed several nice pike a few weeks ago. We also saw several muskies sunning themselves in the clear water. They are there!

We're catching the crap out of the muskies out there!

You know it's gonna be a good day when in the 1st 15 minutes you've landed 5 and missed 2 others, 3 times in the last 10 days out we have not been able to get the rod in the rod holder before a fish was on, that's craziness but I also know it won't last either.

Things slowed down at times but Thursday was another day where the fish were back on the move!
27 pike to 38", (been getting calls/emails asking the size, nothing <40" yet) 1 muskie and a few bass.

SPOOOOONNNNPLUGGGGSSS ROCK!

This has been incredible and as my friend John Bales said on another board only with Spoonplugging would it be possible for us to make catches such as this and he should know! I received a call from him after he and his son caught over 40 small mouth to 5.5lbs off one anchored casting position.

Delavan:
Only 8 Yesterday but 21 Wednesday that makes 343 pike in the last 18 trips out. Wednesday we only had 2 under 32". No muskies in a while.

We are getting the attention of some, I have had to turn down a couple of guide trips. heading for Eagle Tuesday or Wednesday for 10 days or so. However I'm going Monday back to Delavan and have an open seat.

I took out Jim T. from Crystal Lake Monday and we had a great time. Things were a bit slow till 4:00pm when they seemed to start moving a little, we ended up catching a bunch missing a few but things were noticeable slower. (turn over)

The biggest pike that we have caught after about 1500 in the last 5-6 seasons has been 41". We no longer net or measure pike very often unless it's a good one, I'd say they average about 32"-33". I'll be back out in early Nov.

Havn't been able to get out to Delavan in a couple of weeks and it took a little while to relocate em, (6 hours) Saturday I caught 10 pike from 1:pm-4. They were all in about the same depth, give or take 2'.
