I've got a 14' Lund Sportsman that has developed a slow leak due to the front 2' of the keel being ground down to expose the glass laminate. I'm looking for something to repair an area about 30"x10". Any products or tips on how to do this would be much appreciated!

If you can, flip the boat over and sand down the glass around the damage so you get a good bond. Buy a sheet or two of 3 OZ fiberglass matt (random fiber matt) (NOT Woven Roving)and use a narrow strip to build up the center of the keel. Wet out the strips of glass you cut with resin and catalyst mix, and smooth them onto the damaged area, making sure you have the fiber well wetted out. Let each layer kick until at least cured to the touch. Then use a wider strip to build outward, and so on until you have the repair built up. Wet sand out the worst of the imperfections, and if you are not concerned with the appearance, you are done. If the color needs to match, you'll need to spray gel coat, which is much more difficult. Apply a keel guard, and never worry about that happening again!
