| I'm getting ready to make a few rubber skirted spinner baits & would like everyones opinion. What is your favorite blade style for spinner baits & top 4 blade colors, if you had to limit it to 4? Thanks. |

Location: oswego, il | For spinner baits, I like colorado and willow blades. Hatchet blades put out a ton of vibration too. For in-line spinners, I like them all.
Colors, I like silver in clear shad water, silver, gold and copper for clearer waters up north. I like chartruse and white on algae bloom water. Brown stain, many colors can be good, white, chartruse, red, orange and copper. |

| good answer Todd.
my favorite for large rubber spinner baits
two bladed - a #5 colorado and a willow leaf (large, not sure of size)
going to replace some willows with fluted this year.
single blade - #8 fluted
Blades
silver blades for white or black rubber
orange or red blades for black rubber
single fluted seems easier to fish with.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I like Chartuese Blades with matching skirts and Orange and Black for darker water. White and Sliver and Black and Silver round things out for the top 4. I throw single bladed baits, using a large Indiana blade if I want maximum noise and Colorado if lift is first and noise second. On the Goon last week I did very well on large single willow leaf blades bent to really kick. |

Metal colors have always been the best for me. I wish spinner makers would start using metallic colored blades...walleye guys have been using them with alot of success. Northland makes purple, yellow and green metallic blades that have the best of both words...metal shine and color. |

Location: oswego, il | I like heavy blades but they have their place. Since they are heavier, they add weight to the bucktail, making them run deeper. They also spin alot slower, making them have less lift. Not a great bait for over cover but you can burn them if they don't have a ton of drag.
Forgot to mention above, in the first and last hour of light in the day, chartruse blades are great on clear water. It's the only time I will throw chartruse in clear water, when the light is diminished.

Oh yeah.... I like the #7 Fluted blade for a general purpose bait.... and willow leafs for speed. Chartruese and Nickel are my two "go to" blade colors. |
