I just got it done. I will not make this color for anything other then a fundraiser in Kly's name. This one has 6 coats of hard coat and is numbered "69" just like I'm sure Kly would have wanted.

Slamr, email me your address so I can get you this as well as your birthday present.

Good question. We keep trying to get to this, but life keeps getting in the way. We apologize for not getting things rolling faster, and we appreciate the continued support.

GMG, I make whatever color tickles my interest at the time. I only do small batches of 10-25 baits per run. I just sold out for the summer, and may make a couple more before the end of the year. I'm limiting myself to no more then 100/year, so then I get there I'm done (I'm in the mid 80's right now). That gives people who do get one a bit of exclusivety and I hope someday a collectors item.

Thanks to all for the kind words...now get out there and FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Treats, awesome bait. How does one go about owning/obtaining one of these fine pieces of work.

I hear Treats loud and clear.
I made 100 this spring, and wouldn't do anymore if it weren't for the fact that I received an early retirement. Now I'm spending the summer with my 9 year old, and even though I have 100 blanks ready for paint, I'm not going to put lure production in front of time with her. I put up a 10 pack of a new color this week, and will continue to make lures in quantities of 10 at a time, all in different colors. This way I can paint lures how and when I want to. I have a book full of sketches of new color patterns, and a list of requested colors, but I have to check Taylor's schedule first.
I make lures because I love to make them and I get off on painting them. Better yet, I really get off on catching fish on them or seeing people catch fish on them.
I'll get busy in the fall, but right now my plan is to lay low and slow down amd limit production for the fall....more fishing and bow-hunting....then I'll try to get a bunch of colors and a new style ready for the muskie shows. Right now muskiefirst is my sole source of selling, except for the ones that wind up on e-bay. People keep telling me to get a website so I can sell more. The point is, I don't want to. I want to paint when I can and when I feel like it.
Treats, you have the right idea with the limited production. It's not your job, it's a hobby that doesn't really turn a profit. The true people that profit are the people that get to use them.
Basement baitmakers are a breed apart. I've seen some not-so-good stuff, but I've also seen some stuff that is top quality coming out of basements.
Keep up the good work Treats.
Can't wait to see mine.
