Subject: Which battery should I hook my vex up too?

I'm planning on hooking up my vexilar fl18 on the bowmount trolling motor. Should I run it off of the starting battery or off of the trolling motor battery? I have a lund 1660 pro-v with a stock 12 volt setup for the trolling motors. Thnaks Fisherben

Whichever battery your other locator is not hooked up to otherwise you may get interference...

I run my Marcum off of the bow Trolling Motor batteries.

I have a Lowrance unit running off the starter battery.

I don't get any interference on the Lowrance, I get a little on the Marcum - but it goes away with a push of the IR button...
