The 2005 season for the Wisconsin Muskie Tour's eastern region opened up on Lac Vieux Desert on Saturday, May 28th. The full field of competitors would be fishing to qualify for the WMT's Invitational Championship and for the $10,000.00 first place prize money.

The WMT's Lac Vieux Desert tournament paid down five places:
1st place: Don Grant, Jefferson and Doug Grant, Wales
2nd place: Dan Buss, West Bend and Bob Chitty, Luc
3rd place: Eric Faust, Madison and Steve Soma, Sun Prairie
4th place: Gary Tutaj and Randy Tutaj, both of Lake Mills
5th place: Mark Van Rossum, DePere and Tom Meulemans, Greenleaf
