Posts: 7036 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Here are some pictures of the tourney. The day started out warm, then got cloudy, then got windy, then warm, then windy and cold. We didn't see a fish, though we witnessed the catch of a 36 3/4 muskie within the first five minutes of our being out. We threw mostly smaller twitch baits and some small topwater, concentrating on Channel and Catherine lakes. Apparently, they didn't like what we were throwing. As always, the FRV put on a well-organized tournament, and while we didn't catch any fish, we still had a great time. Location: Minneapolis, MN | One of the fish that was caught in Airport in the first 1/2 hour was on a spook. One of the fish on Marie came on a Crane as did another on Petite.

Posts: 20213 Location: oswego, il | I lost one that I am pretty sure would have put me in the money but stupid me forgot to tighten the drag after we trolled over to the spot. Had nothing to fight the fish with after I set the hook. I did get a bass on a figure eight later on though.

Posts: 956 Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | I too had the suicidal 5lb bass on a 6"wtd suick just after I failed to triger a 45"er on catherine. For that split second I thought I had the big girl on. Not that I cant tell the difference between a 5lb bass and a 25lb muskie, that first jerk on the line always sets me off. Then again later on spring lake, another 45"er that didnt care to taste my soft plastic bait. First fish had several wounds/scars across her back while the second was clean as a whistle. Still grumbling over the fact that just one of these two fish would have made the top of the board, both of them would have blow everyone away. Yeah I know "But if...." There were others that also saw quality fish out there. Maybe next time. Karl

Once again a fun tournament Ty and I had a good time, we had food!Ty used his magic to boat a 25" Ty said "it would have ben cool if i were dyslectic". we stuck to a small bait pattern and well it produced a small fish. the cool part it was anybodys win until the last cast. Great Job as always by the FRV Congrats to the winners. see ya in the fall Keith

Posts: 188 Location: Chicago | It was a well run tourney and I thought with only 75 boats that the traffic was not bad at all, we did stay away from Channel and Catherine as I heard there were spots that just had way too many people fishing them The food was so much better, thanks Rich! My partner Mike, caught a 35.5 with a broken back, pretty ugly fish. We had another nice one up to the boat, however it did not bite. Seems like the action was down from the week prior, as we caught 2 and saw 7 others. Thanks to who organized it! Rob
