Has anyone had a problem mounting they adaptor plate MKA 16-02 QRB for Minn Kouta bow mount Power Drive. I'm looking at this base plate and it doesn't look like I have enough clearance to allow the shaft of the trolling motor passed the gunnel of the bow.
Question is: Can you change the mounting hole for the slide plate? I'm thinking about moving the location of the 4 holes back to more clearance. Is there any problem with the tourque of the motor if you change this?

If you originally had a power drive or autopilot motor before and removed it for the mounting plate, you will need new holes. The mounting plate extends past the motor base, and the holes are different. it will not be much of a move, but a move nonetheless. Not too hard to do, but that will at least get you lined up again. (I hope I understood your question correctly.)

Thanks Steve,
I was able to mount the adaptor plate, the real problem was that the shaft lenth of 60 inches was putting the head of the Minnkota right at my windshield. This meant that I had to try and get the mounting bracket to install at a 45 deg angle to the bow. with the adaptor I was able to clear that extra inch or so and we'll give it a try.

Thanks again,
Bruce
