Youll be runnin around or away from all those hard workin Finnish people if you keep callin their town Dulthe,,I assume you mean Duluth??? Island lake just north of Duluth has muskies stocked in it, pretty big lake too, not much known about it or a very well kept secret dont get confused with Island lake a bit south of Duluth stocked with muskies too but only about 500 acres,,St Louis River just a few miles south of Duluth has muskies too,,With Vermillion only about an hour and a half away most people just pass these by,,,Good brook trout fishing around Duluthe if your into that

Hit Island lake a few times now when in the area, and just can't seem to crack it. Have seen a few smaller fish, but not many of them. Also talked to alot of property owners there, and asked them why they had the water down so low. Apparently the levels will fluctuate in the summer up to 12' vertically. Really agravates the shore property owners, but that is the price they pay living on a resevoir I guess. They think alot of fish are going over the dam then, and down into the St. Louis............HHMMM. I think I'll try the St. Louis river this year when in that neighborhood. I checked Muskies Inc database and some nice ones are being taken there. Does anyone know if the actual harbor area where the river dumps into Superior is any good???

Side note, a kid had his foot nearly chewed off by a musky in the small Island lake south of duluth near the town of Moose Lake. Would like to tangle with that one
