The WMT's Lac Vieux Desert tournament is full as of March 22nd. We are now taking names to be on a waiting list for the LVD tourney. If you are interested in being included on the waiting list, please log on to the WMT's web site and reply to the post, "LAC VIEUX DESERT TOURNAMENT IS FULL", and include the name of your team. If you have recently mailed in an entry for the LVD event after the tournament has filled, we will call you with your options.

Also, there are many WMT qualifying tournaments that are just a wisker away from filling up. If you are interested in fishing a WMT tournament in 2005, with a chance of winning TWO NEW RANGER BOATS and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, be sure to get your entry in soon because more and more qualifying tournaments will be filling up in the near future.

Remember, the WMT filled most of our tournaments in 2004 and this year we are on a record breaking pace to fill all of our tournaments.

Have a great season and we hope to see you at the WMT this year,

WOW, I'm glad I got our money in when I did! Did it fill up earlier this year than last?

Hey John,

Last year LVD filled up May 15th. This year we are almost two months ahead of last year. We are on such an amazing pace with receiving entries for the entire circuit, it is going to take many of our past tournament anglers by surprise. There are 21 teams who fished last years LVD, and most have fished it for the last couple or few years, that will be disappointed to find out that it is full already.

This is what we have been working so hard for in the last five years at the WMT. Our goal was to fill all of the tournaments, providing to all muskie anglers of all skill levels, a world class muskie circuit that paid out over 100% in cash and prizes and have a low entry fee with a high dollar pay outs. And most of all, our intent was to produce an event where the anglers will be guaranteed to have fun and primarily that is why we have come so far in such a short time.

See ya soon John,

Tom

Don't stir the pot about them being transport. We all know they are, let it be.

If the Wisconsin DNR says it's ok, who are we to argue. Follow the laws, that's all I can ask of a tournament promoter.

Congrats Tom on another successful year for the WMT !!!

Tom,

for the finals.

Is the payout gauranteed this year?Last year the payout was smaller than I thought it would be. Can you fill me in on how it will work this year?

Hello Rick,

Good question. All tournaments and tournament circuit's pay outs are based on full field of paticipants. If an independant tourament doesn't fill up, then the amount that is paid out is pro-rated. As in the case of all tournament circuit, the tournament qualifiers must fill up in order to pay for the Championship. It is for this reason that NO MUSKIE CIRCIUT has ever paid out the full amount at the Championship.

When the WMT first started out, it was set up that our two day tournaments would pay for the Championship, but because we never filled a two day event in the first three years of the WMT, we went to another format. Last year to reach our goal of paying out the full amount at the Championship, we set up the one day tournaments to progressively increase from 60 to 65 to 70 and the75 teams in a region. If we would have filled all the one day tournaments last year, the WMT would have paid out the full amount at the Championship. But we ended up 76 entries shy and we still paid out 100% of the entrie fees collected at the Championship and awarded $64,000.00 worth of Ranger Boats along with tens of thousands of dollars in prizes. Our pay out at the WMT's Invitational Championship was still over 750%.

If we continue to grow in popularity like we have over the years, then this year the WMT will be the first muskie circuit to ever pay out the full amount at the Championship.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,

Thanks for clarifying this. I think this question was talked about after the finals last year but the question was never asked to the right guy.

Keep the good work up and see you in Madison

Rick,

You guys are fishing LVD and The Twins right? Are you Pre-fishing at all?

John,

Most likely. If I can get all my work done we will be up Thursday night. Billy knows Twin and Vieux Desert pretty well. He proved it last year when he stuck two fish and made me net boy in a 1/2 hour. Which tournaments are you fishing this year?

Tom,

That is wonderful to hear. People often overlook the time and effort Beth and you have put into this because of your love of the sport and desire to see the industry as a whole increase. I have enjoyed every tournament I have fished and those who fish it are number one in character and behavior. I hope the open-minded, encouraging atmosphere of this tour never changes so that everyone who is envolved in fishing these tournaments feels comfortable to come out and compete. This is truely a tournament circuit for everyone and I encourage anglers of all levels to participate at least once to see how much you can learn and how many friendships can develop from this atmosphere. I have fished walleye, bass and muskies tournaments put together by several different organizations and none are as enjoyable as the WMT. . . With that said, I'd like it even more if I could place higher than "not first".

Rick,

I'll be on LVD, Pelican and Man Chain for sure. 3 IMTT's for sure as well. I'll be heading up the weekend before and the thursday night prior to the tournament. If you're looking for a room that thursday night, give me a shout, don't spend more than you have to.

Thanks Justin, Matt and Ben.

CASTMASTER: I would like to say that I do respect your opinion and your right express your veiws. Two of the tournaments that the WMT is hosting this year will be utilizing judge boats. They are the Lake Monona tournament on May 14 and the Wuabesa and Upper Mud Lake tournament on May 15. It is a great opportunity for those muskie anglers who would like to participate in the WMT but because of the limits of their boat's livewell, not being large enough, or because of ones personal convictions on the transport issue, to compete in the WMT and enjoy the camaraderie, competition and to do battle with the greatest of freshwater fish. Also, it is a chance to find out more about transport tournaments from the very guys and gals who fish them. It seems that because I am connected with the WMT, my testimonials about transport tourneys has been perceived as biased and my motives are to promote the WMT at any cost. The fact that I have fished more than 90 transport tournaments over the last 15 years are overshadowed by my involvement with the WMT. I hope you can join us Castmaster at the Madison tournament(s) this year and join in the fun!

Steve, the WMT's schedule for the 2005 is:
SOUTHERN REGION
Lake Monona May 14
Lakes Waubesa & Upper Mud May15
Pewaukee Lake May 21
Lake Okauchee May 22
Pewaukee, Okauchee, Lac LaBelle September 10 & 11

EASTERN REGION:
Lac Vieux Desert May 28
North/South Twin May 30
Boom Lake August 6
Pelican Lake August 7
Eagle River Chain August 27 & 28

WESTERN REGION:
Butternut Lake June 4
Phillips Chain June 5
Lake Mohawksin June 18
Lake Minocqua & Kawaguesaga June 19
Manitowish Chain August 20 & 21

WMT'S INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP September 24 & 25

Thanks and you all have a great season,

Tom Mcinnis
