Wondering what you guys are planning for next year...new tactics, baits, etc. I'm looking to try some odd-ball lures like the DeLong Killer Eel, or the Big Joe. Anybody ever try these? I want to throw jigs a great deal more and maybe a sucker when I'm lazy...and work on my twitching techniques...Just curious as to what you guys are planning to do for next year.

I'm going to wander way out into Lake Erie in early summer and hit some of the points and bars where the drop offs are from 25 to 50 feet +.Going to cover a lot of water, some open, both trying the Speed Trolling Propwash with buctail's method and Planerboards with Terminator T-3's and weights.Time to find out what is around the edges of Lake Erie!

I'm gonna be doing a lot of "field testing". I'm also going to spend time chasin' a certain individual that I know is 50# or better. Enough foolin' around with the little boys, I got a date with a big fat MAMA!!!

I may also start exploring Green Bay in search of the ultimate Jackpot. Hey Larry, if your Lake Erie expedition isn't working, maybe you should come up here and show me how to troll the Bay.

Jason, you guys may not be able to handle the big fish from the East, I sure hope you get your chance and wish you luck you will need it.[:sun:]

I have some new oddball baits to try like the slam dancer jerkbait, plus many others I have yet to buy.

Trying some new water and fishing some water I don't fish much more often.

Shallow water planer board trolling.

I'm with Jlong, I want to try popping some fatties on some water nearby. Even though it's a daunting task, I want to try targeting some of the muskies that we have on the Great Lakes. Might start out trolling for them first, hopefully some of the trolling gurus out there can help me out with some of particulars. I have limited knowledge in this style of fishing and looking forward to trying a new approach.

catch ya later,

First, more time on the water.
Second, trolling and fall sucker fishing. Didn't get to do much of the either this year.
Third, jigs.
Fourth, be more flexible and try making adjustments more often when I'm not putting fish in the boat.
I did get two goals accomplished this year though. Got out in November and I was on the water a lot more this year. Hopefully next year will see another increase in time on the water and a few more goals met.

I've got to try about 500 lakes and 500 new lures...Maybe I'll get to 10 lakes and 40 (at most) new lures.

This year I really want to do alot of trolling right here in town on the Wisconsin River and really hit Lake Du Bay hard. I've moved a few biggins there in the past and it's only 15 miles from here. I also want to make my Squirko's work right and use creatures more.

Fish deeper with confidence, seem to give up too quick on the deep diving cranks and move shallower. That could be the big reason I'm not seeing the big girls. can't complain about the number of fish I got this year, but size could be better.
