Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | I was on the Garmin web site no too long ago and they have a complete list of accessories and options/software(download maps etc. ) for each of their units including the GPSV. My wish list kept getting bigger the longer I stayed on the site. Ive got the GPS III and it is serving me well. I'm looking for a good excuse to convince my wife that I need the GPSV thats all. I can find a few right off the top but then again the wish list continues to grow exponentially just like that.
As far as how or how well they work, I found that my GPS III got easier to use the more I played with it. If you are familliar with using a gps already it will be a breeze. If not, force yourself to use it whenever wherever you can.. driving to work, walking the dog, going to school, running errands, dropping off the kids, etc. Find any reason to create a way point and begin creating routes. Dont expect to read the manual once or twice and take the unit on the water and expect everything to flow. the best way to learn is to use it, preferably before ice out. YES, buy the instructional video if youre a newbie to GPS.
Good Luck
