This fish meant a lot more to me than any other fish I've caught. It was caught last Veteran's Day. My grandfather served in the army during WWII and died a few years ago. He loved to fish. Last year marked the first year with our first boat. If he had been around to see it, he would have been equally as happy I was to know that one of my dreams had come true: to own a boat. I couldn't have asked for a better Veteran's Day. God bless those still serving around the world, most especially those in Afghanistan and Iraq.

for all those who stated that words cant describe the gratitutde they feel....do more than just talk! i spent a couple hours yesterday talking with the old boys at the local vets hospital. telling them stories about the ducks i've been shooting, the fish i've been catching. brought them in a big stack of recent issues of various hunting and fishing magazines. i also spent time LISTENING to their stories. these men need to be shown just how much they are appreciated. i think alot of them feel as if most people, young people especially, have forgoten the sacrifices they made.

p.s. i also heard alot of diverstiy as to these mens political beliefs and thoughts about the future of our nation! was enlightnening. i encourage everyone to drop into a va hospital, or a local vfw or american legion.
