Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | I just got a new Expedition last night, and it only has 22 miles on it. The dude at the car place said it should have about 500 miles on it. I have a smaller Tuffy(Marauder 17') so it is not too heavy (trying to stay positive)

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Drive up to Rollie and Hellens today, pick me up an all black Undertaker and drive back.....Whaaalaaaaaa....there's 500 easy. Seriously, I dont know if I'd risk it by pulling a boat if the dealer told me not to. If you do, vary your speeds by 5-10 mph the entire way and way back. Do not stay at a constant speed.

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | I like what I am hearing so far. Thanks for the input. Keep it coming, I need ammo for the wife to say okay.

Location: Athens, Ohio | Yes, go fishing, deal with any resulting issues under warranty. That little boat of yours won't be a big drag on the motor anyway. (We swear, we didn't see a thing.) I agree, vary your speed, use the O/D off button, and dang it, catch something BIG! m

Posts: 476 Location: WI | I got a new Tahoe in June and took my Tuffy out with my Dad on Father's Day with only about the same amount of miles. I used the tow button on my Tahoe, (not sure if you have one on a Expedition), no problem...... That Expedition won't even know what's back there. GotOne

Posts: 1293 Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Hate to throw a monkey in to the wrench, but there is a reason for the warning. With certain electronic trans., there is a break in period on the torque convertor. If you don't care about the longevity pf the trans., go for it. Same issue with breakin on outboard motors, some do, some don't.

Posts: 333 Location: menasha wi 54952 | Was the dude at the car place the salesperson or a mechanic? I would listen to what the mechanic says. I am sure your new SUV will have no problem pulling your rig but a "Problem" may not show up for some time. Mike

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | Bad news is, wife got ticked when I asked. Good news is, my parents are on vacation, and there happens to be an unused truck in their garage. :):):) See ya tonight. Edited by tuffy1 10/29/2004 3:27 PM
