Posts: 155 Location: North Metro | Here is a big fattie that really gave me a great ride in COLD windy weather and BIG waves!!! Who ever said that WI still didn't have 50"ers left in her? Posts: 155 Location: North Metro | We were over in NW 'sconi fishing a lake that has frustrated the hell out of me many times, but I know there is true trophy potential there. I have learned not to give up on certain lakes and it's no longer even a phrase in my vocabulary. I would personally like to thank the guide who I've hired out a couple times who helped me that day and truly earned every cent of his dollars as he is excellent. Eric Genson of Genson's fish hunts will work as hard as any guide to get you into the fish. He guides Hayward area and knows many bodies of water. I highly recommend him. We fished areas that I've fished on the lake we were at a thousand times, and even still, I learned how to fish those areas better. You can never know it all, and when you claim to, it's time to quit this sport. We were quick-striking suckers and casting spinnerbaits, bulldawgs, gliders, even a bit of topwater, stop and start jerks, and bucktails. One fish on a QS, one on a spinnerbait. A shumway funky chicken!!! Thanks Bruce shumway for making a sweet spinnerbait! Thanks again Eric for a fabulous day of learning and catching. | Wisconsin is comin around to the Minnesota side! Bigger size restrictions will increase the size of some of the fish, and education + CPR will do the rest! Nice fish. Both states need to learn from each other and quit fighting over traditions and stubborness of how Muskie fishing should be! Have a great year fishing! I am jealous! Bucktail Ben | |||
