It is my understanding that one should set the hooks on a quick strike rig when the fish is going away from you. I have also heard that this should only be done if the rig has 3 hooks. If the rig has only 2 hooks I have heard that you try to get the boat above the fsh and then set the hook. What is correct????

Going away is always good no matter how many hooks you have. The key is not to set when the fish if facing you.
