| I have been noticing that some of my hooks are starting to get rusty. Alot of these are on brand new baits. I have the baits hanging from the rafters in my basements. What is happening? Is it too humid down there?
I started making a rack in the garage last night so I can keep the baits out there. Will this be any better?
Where do you guys store the baits that arent in the boat with you?
I really dont want to have to replace all these brand new hooks already.

Location: Suspended | Hit them with WD40 once in a while, it displaces moisture and helps keep the rust away. It has some type of fish oil in it that fish like, Lake Ontario salmon guys use it all the time as an attractant. |

| I keep mine in my basement. I run a dehumifier 7x24 and don't have any problem. Becareful of the WD40 - it can damage some baits depending on how they're sealed. |

Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | I keep mine stored in my regular boxes with a ton of Inhibitor Strips, seems to work ok. Probally the biggest rust threat is during the season when baits get wet, rain or damp gets into your boxes, storing them is the easy part.

| Nah, The sleestack is still there. I just wasn't logged on. I'm over at a client's today and was too lazy to log on.
I use the milk crate baitholder when on the water. It allows the bait to dry out and drains well. I'll also hose my baits down with fresh water after an outing and let them air dry in the crate. works well for me. Those inhibitor strips sound like a good idea. esp. with my lakewood boxes. |
