Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | Thanks to a comment Mr. Extreme made last night on the water, my wife gave me the green light to get a marine radio for da boat. My question is, do you have any suggestions for antennas? I am running a tuffy, so I don't need anything so long it appears that I have a Flex Capacitor in the boat. Something in the 2-3 foot range preferably. I won't be talking to truckers in Idaho, so I think one of those 8 footers is overkill. Someone, please help. I am going to BPS on my way home from work. Slamer and co, don't shoot this to the other area for these kinds of questions. You can delete it after 5:00 tonight. Thanks!

Posts: 5874 | Get the Shakespeare 4' Galaxy. May be about $70 or so, but it will out perform those Stainless whips by far. 5400-XT for white, 5401-XT for black. Boat US has them, if you can't find at BP.

Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | Joe, I didn't want to go quite that big. If I go under a powerline, and it is hit by lightening at the exact same time, I may shoot into a different year. It would be a bit big for the musky sled. I just wanted to keep it small for this boat. I don't fish many really big lakes in the sled right now, so distance shouldn't be a problem.

Posts: 5874 | 5225 XT is the number I have, and the one JoMusky is referring to. Great antenna, but the 5400 XT will work fine on Peeeeewaukee.
