| stopped in at the St.Croix factory in Park Falls this week and the salesman was trying to sell my buddy one. when pressed, the salesman admitted that their reels are made by Daiwa. so...why not just by the Daiwa and skip the money for the St.Croix name? or better yet, get an Abu. |

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | I can't argue about which is better for the money, the Croix or the Daiwa. I have been using the Croix's all season so far and really like them. Very smooth, and cast a mile. They have already held up longer than most Abus I have used. I would highly reccomend the St. Croix reels! |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | St Croix has never hid the fact they are made by Daiwa... Think of it this way... They aren't gonna put their name on crap. I think the St Croix may have 1 less BB then the "equivalent" Daiwa even though they are priced about the same... so you most likely are gonna be paying a couple $ for the St Croix name on the reel... I look at these the same way I looked at my Leinenkugel Musky Rod..... It something different that not everyone has.. |
