Hello to all
Heading up to Hayward or Eagle River area in Mid-Late July to take my first Wisconsin musky trip with my wife and another couple. I know that availability might be tight, but I'm hoping to get some tips on a nice resort cabin or private rental cabin that's on a good Musky lake but close enough to town or other things to do (horseback riding) so the ladies will have some things to do too.
Thanks for any tips, it's hard to pick a place cold when it's the only vacation time you're gonna get this summer!

Whit, you can try my inlaws place on the Flambeau Chain. It is just outside of Minoqua with horseback riding nearby, and on a great chain of clear lakes. Plus, there are many others nearby. I don't know what kind of availability they have right now, but they have 3 cabins, and a great beach.

You can reach them at 715-588-3773. It is called All Seasons Resort.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Another place is in the boulder junction area called kerecman's fishtrap resort. Nice and quiet on a two lake chain of fishtrap and high. Minutes from boulder junction and not far from minoqua and woodruff.

If your in Hayward Hermans Landing is directly in the middle of the Chippewa Flowage.
The ride to downtown Hayward is not far for the wives to do there shopping and other stuff.
If your intrerested I can give you a few very qualified guides that are reasonably priced .

A great place on the chip is Reeder's Recess Resort. I believe they went condo but they rent some great cabins. It's quiet and EXTREMELY clean. They have a crew that comes in just to wipe down the outsides of the cabins and railings. Price is reasonable too and the people are friendly. You can catch walleye and pike right off the dock. For Chip guides I recommend Ty Sennett, Tanner Wildes and Corey Meyer.

Angler's Haven on LCO is just South of Hayward and they have very nice cabins and good food!
