For the "Lake of the month" over on the Fishing report board. My wife Connie Smith read thru them and this is the one she liked best.. So Brett gets a free bait from the Slammer crankbait company..

Here is what Brett wrote:

The greatest lake is High Lake in Boulder Junction, Wisc. We''ve only been there for a year or so, but I already can''t wait to move up there personally, when i get older. Its secluded enough that it rarely gets heavy fishing pressure and when it does, its normally because of people fishing for species other than the MUSKY! Which make us extremely happy! There are many rock bars, weed bars, cabbage beds, drop offs, and great shorelines to fish. There are 3 islands on our lake, and all 3 are great for fishing around them. Were up almost every weekend, and we''ve at least seen a fish every single day we''ve been out there, and thats without knowing the good spots on the lake. We''ve caught numerous amounts of fish between 30-40, a decent amount of 40s and we''ve seen some monsterous 50+. As a bonus fishing on this lake, I have caught a bunch of 19-20 bass on topwaters like the dancin'' raider and top raider, big northerns in the lake, and big walleyes as well(state record came out of here 18lbs). The wildlife is just amazing. I see deer all the time drinking at the shores of our lake, eagles and loons everywhere, and we''ve also seen some bears too! One time a 5lb walleye floated up on shore. My dad went out there and put it on this hill because he was going to measure it. As he came back in the house and monsterous bald eagle flew down, sat there for a minute, then took off with the walleye in its talons. The eagle made the walleye look like a perch. The people that live on the lake are extremely nice and kind, and they take care of the lake pretty well.

Also, a major plus is that, since we''ve been there for a year, there was only one day where we saw a jet skier, and he was way out in the middle not bothering anyone!

Our lake is the greatest in my opinion, but it is only my opinion!

Thanks, great contest,

Brett Carroll

Jason,

Thanks a lot. I sent you an email with my address. Once again it was a great contest. And instead of going to Disneyland, I think I might travel South for that potential Fall trophy.

Thanks again,

Brett Carroll[:)]
