Coming off of Lynn's fishing from shore...

Does anyone ever backtroll a lure in strong current? I mean just letting the lure sit there and swim in the current. Ocassionally letting a little more line out to cover water. Seems like it would piss off even a Muskie with lockjaw if it was in their face long enough. It sure works great for steelhead in the winter rivers. The fly chuckers hate me for it but it is fun.

Seems like this would work on a Muskie too. You could change lures and cover more depth also.

should I stick with mostly casting up stream. I was packing light but was bringing a 1.5 oz jig with a 6 inch swimbait on it, Bluegill super shad rap, couple of bucktails, my triple white spinnerbait, jointed 6 inch wiley, small basement bait (looks like a 4 inch sunfish), 8 inch tiger tube...

what else? A little room left in the plano.
thanks in advance

I would think you should hold the boat in position with the bow pointing upstream.

how about a jig and swim tail drawn slowly upstream? up and down? on and off the bottom, along the bottom?

Help guys, going to a river for some shore fishing in the am.
