Where did you find the info on Great Lakes? The only thing I could find on DNR website was not up to date, in that it still showed the Northern Zone opening on the Sat. before Memorial Day. The up to date list of seasons has the Northern Zone opening along with general fishing but did not list a different date.
Hope that is correct, because a lot of big fish are still in the Fox at that time or off the mouth of the river.

The Great Lakes systems still open Memorial Day weekend.
