You have likely seen Captain David Holmes on TV's Minnesota Bound. Captain David Holmes grew up in Stillwater and The Saint Croix was his home water from toddler to teenager. As a part time guide in College he says he "spent way too much time on the water, and not enough time in school" David decided to guide full time right out of College, bought a 17-foot jet boat, got his captain's license, and jumped right into it. Now five years into being a full-time guide, he concentrates mainly on muskie and smallmouth in the upper Mississippi, and smaller rivers. His clients fish with conventional tackle and also flyfish, as the 17-foot boat is a stable casting platform. We are meeting at Sweeney's Saloon, about a mile south of Interstate 94 on Dale in Saint Paul. You may want to come early to enjoy some Sweeney's food with the Club in the room off from bar from 5 to 7, then meeting will be upstairs at 7. Meetings are free. You do not have to be a Muskies Inc member to attend.

Others who have attended seminars by Captain Holmes have been impressed. He has carved out a niche in the heavily stocked Mississippi.
