Going to the chain and staying on Eagle Lake next week. I know it'll be busy and I actually hate fishing it because of this. It's been 15-20 years and I thought it was nuts then so I can only imagine. Anyhow we are taking a few rods and a handful of baits. I need suggestions for baits and colors anything that will help. Taking my 11 year old son with me when I musky fish too. It's a big family trip so our musky time will be limited. He loves throwing smaller cranks, I'll toss anything but big rubber! Thanks guys

LOL! Fish early or late. I used to fish it from 5:00 to about 9:00AM. Topwater was always good. Prop style baits.

I've stayed at the North Shore Lodge for several years (going again in 2 weeks!). The owner recently told me use bucktails and topwater at this time. (East end of the lake.) good luck, hope your son lands a 50.

My two cents: I've stayed at North Shore Lodge (near Turtle Bay Lodge) several times, and have always enjoyed great fishing for Pike, Musky, and Walleyes (with a few Smallies thrown in). However, if anyone plans to use their own boat, be aware that there are a million submerged rocks all over the east end of the lake. Even if you were lucky one year and did not hit a rock, the next year the lake may be significantly lower, bringing more rocks nearer the surface. Hire a guide if you don't know the lake!
