Congrats to Danny and his client. Awesome fish. Eagle Lake is my favorite place on earth to fish.
Ordered my 2024 Recon 2085 Tiller a few weeks ago can't wait to fish out of it next season.
I'm very impressed with Recon boats. Danny told me he loves his.

Did you find one at a dealer somewhere? I still haven't seen one in person.

I went right to Recon to order mine and look at one... but Lakeside Marina in Oshkosh has one in stock now- you will have to order through a dealer

Are the days of asking how big a fish was over? 2=100 lbs. leaves lots of variables.

Very Jealous! And hear I was thinking to myself yesterday "Welp, lost my only sucker to an unimpressive Pike 2minutes after having it out ( bunch of cussing)...buuuut its still kinda neat."

Good pictures speak for themselves. AML doesn't usually release measurements on the legals or very close to legal due to rampant stupidity on social. I deleted at least 5 dumbassed comments like 'same fish, different camera angle' or worse.

Now Steve, I am sure they all have had dozens of 40# plus fish in their boat and are eminently qualified to critique said photos.

You will love that boat. I was just over at Recon, great people and facility.

I am sure that big Recon tiller will be a fishing machine and your guide clients will love it. But with that big of a tiller I have a question about visibility. I have an 18' Lund Pro V tiller that I really like and is great to fish out of. However, in low light, navigating channels, etc. at low speeds, seeing over the bow, trolling motor, Helix can be a little iffy. About 10 years ago a dealer at a boat show had a 20' Larson tiller with a big engine. He said it was great for fishing and expected to sell it to someone who fished walleyes on Winnebago, but he said when he ran one at the factory demos, he wasn't comfortable with that much boat in front of him. Do you have your seat set higher or some other means of increasing line of sight? (On plane, it is not an issue)

Jeff. I fished out of that Recon 2085 tiller last weekend. Was really impressed with the layout, lots of room rod storage will handle 10 footer. seemed to ride good only had less than 2 foot waves. I would recomend this boat. Awesome tiller boat. the electronics were all on starboard side on mounts facing driver. So out of way for fishing on port side. I questioned it at first but when i stood where he was and checked it out i could see the graphs well from where he was running the boat. as he fished from the back

Just got back from AML. Danny was basically kicking everyone's @ss on the water so badly he drives by yelling "if you're not fishing a white tube, you're NOT FISHING!!!" so we switched to white tubes.

For those that doubt the size of the fish, go fish Eagle. She can be a stubborn bch, but giants live in those waters. Far more than you think, far more than you'll ever see (livescope hurts the soul sometimes). And never doubt the Herbecks on catching big fish. Just. Don't.
