It's fall now, so I want to give my dyin dawg another try. Should I fish it fast or slow? Should I jerk my rod down? Up? 45 degree angle? Should I have long or short pauses? Etc. I've never caught a fish on it so I'm not sure what would work best.

There's no wrong way to fish it, it really shines in cold water when you can hang it near a fish that has been located. You can also just fish it like a dive-rise jerkbait and it's awesome.

Should I fish it by doing a jerk, one reel, then jerk it again? Should I do a couple of erratic jerks and a pause before reeling in a bit?

That'll work! Also, you can burn and stop if you just wanted to use the reel (high speed reel is best for this).
