Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I was wondering what people’s preferences are when it comes to size of bait? The past couple of years I have really worked hard to try and master this style of bait. I have noticed that I have success with smaller walk the dog baits then I do with the bigger ones; Willy’s, poe’s and viper’s. What companies make smaller size baits, 5 to 6.5 inches? I know of the Willy jr.

| Check out Baby Weagle - 5.5 inches. It fishes and acts like a larger WTD surface lure. I also like Zara Super Spook. It is smaller but is very effective if you really want to downsize. |

Location: NorthCentral WI | Bucher Dancin' Raider is another good one, although my favorite is the 8" Weagle at opener and all throughout the season. |

| As mentioned above, I wouldn’t give up on 8” wtd” Weagles (chop 1-2’) and Fish Stick HD’s in ripple to 1’ chop… pretty much all I throw spring to winter when I want a wtd… I rarely throw wtd if it’s glass calm, but generally if I do I grab an original jackpot.. anything smaller feels like I’m bass fishing ( plenty of bass eat the Weagle and Fishstick) |

Funny, I actually forgot the name of this bait until I saw this thread. My most used topwater. Everyone that fishes with me ask what it is and I tell them I have no clue. Cast like a bullet and super easy to work. I'm not sure but I think Salmo quite making these. |

I was able to find a couple different colors on Ebay recently. They do cast like a bullet. |

| i watched a super spook disappear sideways in one of the bigger muskies ive seen mouths. only then to see it fly back out as i was setting the hook. talk about a wtf moment.
i like all sorts of the smaller ones. just make sure to upgrade the hooks on them if not from a musky specific mfg.
i still think a poes giant jackpot is one of the better all around fish of all species movers. |
