Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Just got back from Eagle, stayed at AML. Got __# fish, no pics. NO SWEAT. I know what the sizes were, I know what I caught them on, and remember the experience.
Yes, I was fishing alone so pics were kinda not in the equation. Yes, if I'd caught a giant I might have screamed for someone to come over and take a pic, but most places I was (fishing solo) I was truly alone.
Try it, feels kinda....good. |

Location: Vilas | Im on board. Not every fish needs a pic or to be boarded anyway. How many pix of a 40"er does someone need?? I realize that newer muskie fishermen would like a measurement and a pic, but after you have some fish under your belt.... do you really need more pix of the same caliber of fish??? |

Location: Chisholm, MN | Yup, smaller fish get a net picture. I take pictures of the bigger ones and don’t measure them if they’re extra stressed. |

Location: Alberta Canada | Only take the odd pic, rarely measure fish, and in most cases if possible I just pop the hooks with the fish in the water
When I started fishing primarily out of a kayak it’s often too much of a hassle unless I have a partner in another kayak close
Most of the pictures I take are not even for myself and mostly because others requested them. Personally I just enjoy being out fishing and that’s what matters

| I have taken 3 pictures in the last 10 years. 2 of them were 42" Pike, 1 was a 23" Walleye. Pictures don't do much for me. |

| I fish alone the vast majority of the time, and don't want to try to mess around with some sort of selfie, so I only take a picture if I'm fishing with someone else. I do take at least one picture when fishing with someone else, no matter what kind of fish it is, because my niece is always wanting me to send her a fish picture. She's as happy to see a blue gill as a 4 footer. |

| I am going to go against what seems to be the grain here. Fishing alone I completely understand about no pictures. But my father passed unexpectedly about a year ago - and boy, am I glad I have the fishing pictures of him and myself that I do. |

| I take a photo of every muskie I catch, regardless of size. Because, well, I don't catch that many. And if I don't have proof, it didn't happen.
By myself I just take a photo of it laying on the measuring board. I don't do selfies. |

Location: Chisholm, MN | For you that struggle with solo pictures, just get a tripod for your phone. Put the phone on video and just start recording before you pull the fish out of the net. Hold it still in front of the camera and let the fish go. Then just take a screenshot of the best part. It's so easy and no messing around with timers or selfies and even better than laying the fish on the bump board for a picture to prove you caught a 37 incher. |

| If I have someone in the boat with me Ok, but I'm by myself a lot. My latest fish picture of my Walleye dinner. With old places going a way I take a lot of photos of old businesses. (just in case) and a lot of pictures on the lake or the woods. |

| Back in the day I had an awesome compact Minolta digi camera. Its best feature was a small remote that dropped out of the bottom of the housing. The remote had two delay settings, 5 seconds and 15 seconds. It was perfect for setting the camera on the front seat, hitting the 15 second delay and then reaching over the side of the boat into the net, grabbing the fish, holding the fish for the shot and then fish release. |

| Early Saturday morning, while getting my second cup of coffee my wife said a guy fishing right off our dock was hooked up on a musky. He was by himself and it looked like a better fish, so I hustled down the dock to see if wanted a pic. He had just netted the fish and said thanks but I have a video going and it is not that big. I said, gee, thought it looked bigger. He laughed and said he had as well but it was probably only 35-36. Big head. He unhooked it and let it swim away without ever picking it up. |

I actually did this the last time I went out. My niece had been bugging me about sending a picture, as I hadn't been out for quite a while; too hot for this old guy. I didn't use a tripod, just propped the phone on one of the boat seats. Worked really well. Trimmed the video to just a few seconds, and sent it. Now the niece wants me send more "fish movies". |

| I used to take pictures of all my fish. That got boring, so did the lunge log, and my personal log. Besides that, my "wall of fame" has turned into a wall of shame, because people see it and say stuff like "Oh, so you've never worked, eh? Or my favorite "Why do you have so many pictures of the same fish??" Yeah buddy. I changed clothes, made the sun come out, gained 30 pounds, and died my hair white in between shots... Even worse is when they go "oh, you have a son?! He looks just like you!" *sigh* |

| Years ago I had a camera that had a remote, We caught some Northerns on a Canoe Trip went ashore I put my camera on a stump looked thru the viewfinder lined up my friend went next to him and took the photo. worked out great. |

People get to much into the glamor aspect of big fish fishing. many of my biggest have no photo. I got a picture in my head. If they don't believe it the heck w them. Tey even have one that allows y take a movie while catching a fish. |

| Muskies and pike are the only fish I take pics of and they need to be fairly big. Salmon/trout/bass nope.

| Some of the best musky pics I have seen are release photos, with a guy's hand by the tail and fish turned slightly so you can see most of the side. Fish in the water but you can see it. |

Definitely my favorite pictures are well posed release shots. Some people do some very nice quality pictures that are far better than the classic make the fish look as big as possible hero shot
Two years ago I ran a lure give away photo contest and the winner was not the biggest fish but instead a very good release picture taken from under the water. It was a well done classy picture
Most of my pictures when I take them are crappy and rushed trying to get the fish back in the water so I can continue fishing lol. Friends say I need to hire a camera man for my trips |

| nothing wrong with fishing alone. I fish alone 75% of the time. Nice with 2 for launching but that's ok. The pictures are always in my head that's proof enough. |
