I shop almost exclusively online now. Live bait from a mom-and-pop.

Mainly online - do not have any retailers really in my area. So online is 95% of where I buy. I also do some purchasing at shows. Only brick and mortar would be if I happen to be in Minneapolis near Thorne Brothers.

There's 1 bait shop 30minutes away that carries a decent selection of musky baits. Don't go there often though. Every other place carries a basic selection of walleye and bass tackle. It's the Terminal and such that's pretty much non existent everywhere. So I mostly get everything online too.

Mostly in person. Helps to live 35 minutes from the Musky Shop and can take advantage of in store sales. But have also bought a couple rods online from tackle industries.

Mostly in person for me. But I have never been much of an online shopper for anything.

I have a Fleet Farm, Scheels, Cabela's, and Thorne Brothers all within about 30 minutes of my house in the Twin Cities area.

80% online but occasionally I will make a 1 hour detour to the Musky Shop. Since I live in an area served by Speedy Delivery the shipping is normally pretty reasonable.

My place in WI is 25 minutes from the Musky Shop so I’m in there a few times a year mostly with friends that buy tackle. I also hit the shows and swaps. There are always some great deals to find at the swap meets as ToddM can assest to. I don’t buy as much as I used to and have been making my own blades the past few years.

30%  online, 60% in my basement building customs, and a few lure swaps!

Smokey’s in SE, Wi. Is having a lure swap this Saturday 29th. It is outside, and you must bring your own tables.  Weather looks suspect at this time ;(

Musky shows and online primarily. If I have other business in the area of Thorne Bros I'll sometimes pick some stuff up there occasionally. I will get stuff like line or other odds and ends from fleet farm.

About equal combination of Musky Shows, Tackle shops and Online. I am fortunate to live close to Thorne Bros and fish regularly in areas close to Rollie and Helens. Online purchases have increased dramatically the last 5 years.

In recent years, I buy more stuff from Facebook groups and eBay than anything else. I still attend the shows but only buy a few things there. Team Rhino, Musky Shop and Musky Tackle Online still get orders from me a few times a year and I still buy stuff from Fleet Farm occasionally.

I found out about Cabela's in 1988, been a customer of Thorne Bothers since 1989, and shopped in Rollie & Helens in the early 1990's (Rollie and Helen were in the store) and on the way up North I've bought a lot of stuff from Scheel's and Fleet Farm.
I've also bought a lot of stuff from George Langley's Eagle Sports in Eagle River, Team Rhino, and Musky Lures Online.
I have so much stuff the only things I buy now are old out of stock lures from E-Bay, or parts from Lure Parts Online, Moore's Lures, Lure's And Leader's, or Part's from Rollie & Helen's). I Trout fish here in Colorado and at my sister has a place on the Big Thomson River and it is Catch & Release and Lures only. I went to a Cabela's and another store trying to find a Mepp's #1 in copper and a Mepp's #1 in Black Fury to replace lure I lost last year. Sure I have couple of each but I need new one's for the river since I cut off two hook's off the treble and pinch the barb down on what's left. Two stores didn't carry two basic lures. Only one mom and pop store left in metro Denver. Good thing I don't need much.

Local joint (not sure I'd call dakota angler mom and pop) whenever possible. When they don't have what I need, online.

I do a lot of my shopping on this board. I also try to support our local retailer. Smokeys is under new ownership but the new owner John is doing a great job and wants to carry what local guys want. If you haven’t been to Smokey’s, it’s one of the only places I know where you can drink and beer while you shop.

JD does the swap start this Saturday?

Andy….Yes, Saturday at 7am. Not sure I’m going if it’s raining with the swap outdoors.

About 1/3 from my local Reed's Sporting Goods. 1/3 from Team Rhino. 1/3 direct from the bait maker's website.

When I got into muskie fishing full time, I was also trying to get my wife to quit smoking cigarettes. Every time she'd go buy a carton I'd buy a couple baits for spite.
Now, I've got a whole wall of baits a rarely use anymore and she's got COPD. m

I hit up either Chicago, or Ohio during show season. Online purchases are mostly with TRO, and Musky Shop, and a couple of annual in person visits to the latter... throw in the occasional lure building order with Dick Moore, and I'm good.. Very little in the way of musky tackle down in Dixie but I do hit up the local shops wherever I wind up on my Esox expeditions..
