Location: Rochester, New York | I dont have the actual boat yet and wont for a long time but the current boat i would want is 16’ 5” and was wondering if there was a good muskie livewell (made in usa) that would work for both revival and if its a record keep it alive to get it to a bait shop to certify it |

| Your net is your live well for reviving fish. Don't know the regs in NY, but in MN, if you put a fish in your live well, you have reduced it to possession, even if you intend to release it. And with a 54" minimum for possession, there are very few muskies you could put in your live well, without possessing an illegal fish. |

I believe of the muskies that are landed in the 1000 islands5 4 “ isnt that uncommon for the big fish but it would be to keep the fish if i was I'm by myself and need to grab something as i couldn’t hold the net and go grab it or its a record and to get it to a bait store and keeping it alive, or if waves start really pick up ect |

Trying to find a boat with a 60" live well is next to impossible. Guys on St Claire I've read use a company called "fish thanks" I believe for revival tanks, but unless your a charter boat I'm not sure it's worth the investment |

The New York state record is bigger than the world record. ??
Yes the state of NY recognizes the 69 LB 15 oz fish by Arthur Lawson while the IFGA doesn't and recognizes Cal Johnson’s 67 LB 8 oz fish |

| In MN you will also need to kill the fish in order to receive the standard state recognition status by weight.
There is a catch and release version now for pure strain muskies in MN. I am not exactly sure what that requirements are needed to be certified though. Maybe at least one witness and detailed photos of the length?
As others have stated, forget the livewell and use a muskie net. |

Neither one of those is legitimate, so I wouldn't worry about catching and registering a WR at those specs, no one has yet. |

Location: deephaven mn | Make friends with the DNR.In West Virginia the last two state records were verfired by DNR that came to site of the catch.
One was on a lake and the last one was on a river. Both times fish was held in a net. |

Location: SW Ohio | The WV fish was kept in a net until the DNR guy showed up. The scale either didn't work or was out of date. The first DNR transported the fish to another DNR officer that certified it. It was transported back the river where it was released.

I use my MX livewell a lot in the warmer months. At 50", it will hold the largest fish I'd expect to catch in OH or KY. With an oxygenator and aerator, it has done quite well perking up lethargic fish. A little G-jiuce helps.
