Hi everyone,
My first post here, please be gentle. LOL

I am taking a dream trip to Mill Lac this summer. I have been out of circulation for some time. I tried finding out info on Minnesota DNR. I am pretty sure I know the correct answer to my question. If I troll for muskies in the afternoon to rest the joints I can have only one line per licensed person in the boat. So if I was alone then one line only. If with my GF then two lines etc.

Thanks and wish us luck. Hope to most a lunker here late July!!

One rod per angler but the GF's rod will catch the bigger fish. It seems to be the law of averages.

Curious - what is the likely hood of success on Mille Lacs these days? I only ever hear doom and gloom. So odds probably are not good - but for an average fisherman, how long would it take to contact/see/get a follow from a fish?

Tough to say. Certainly its not a numbers lake anymore. Its strictly trophy and potentially record caliber lake only now.

I haven't fished it for muskies in years because it took so long to connect on fish. I only fish it for smallmouth nowadays.

The last time I regularly fished it during a season for muskies, I caught 2 in a season out there. They are thick, healthy fish when you pile into one, but if I had to choose a place to target them, I would not go there anymore. Unless of course, you're only looking for big foot. Risk vs reward.

I am used to trophy fishing for muskies, I have spent several weeks in Ontario looking for the elusive 50+ incher. After a decade I have two. I just want to have fun with new boat, fish trophy waters and if if the gods see fit then GF will catch a monster and I will get the responsibility of the net man.
