I would be afraid to see what would happen to the lure after the first big fight. Can’t imagine losing it.

What on earth would it do that a 20 dollar version that looks just like it not do? None of them are made to run deep, it doesn't have joints that allow for big swinging movement. Looks like your paying for hype and boutique craftsmanship that doesn't translate to better action

I'd be tempted to buy a big single jointed glider like a Hinkle Trout or Hinkle Shad someday. Would be for trying to trick warry Stripers or giant Largemouth that only eat stocked trout. It's nearly impossible to catch those old smart ones unless the balance and action is spot-on.

I don't give muskies that much credit. In most systems they eat a wide variety of forage, it typically doesn't take that kind of detail to trigger one. Cool baits though.

Not that I'd ever spend $1,000 on a lure, but if by some chance I had I'd make #*^@ sure I never threw it in the lake. That said I've seen lots of stuff listed on Ebay for thousands of dollars that you can get just about anywhere for less than $20.

I can find much better things to buy with $1000.

You think the seller would do a straight up trade with a Shadilac?

Looking at the reviews of the seller on eBay, none of the listed sales were over $150, and that could have been for multiple items.

I can appreciate homemade and hand painted items. But there better be precious metals in that paint for that price.
For contrast sake. https://alternativefishinglures.com/products/roughy-upcycled-ocean-p...
Sure its plastic and hydro wrap but the $ difference is so insane.

That's Great!
We all have lures that are near and dear to us. I have 4" Pikie Minnow I bought in 1979 for $ 1.29 and has caught many of fish (I won't fish this lure from shore) And if I hang it up I'm going for a swim.

There’s no way I’m even thinking of buying it. If I did it would never make it into the waters, probably a glass box ;-).

I even have a hard time spending $20 on a lure. If I lose it my day is pretty much ruined. Haha.

I think a lot of the hype on this lure being so high is they say they donate half to oceana I believe it is called. So $500 for the lure is pretty ridiculous.

Just wanted to see what you guys thought of it.

Those Hinkle lures are very expensive also. Some look like really nice and from what I hear is they work pretty good.

For a good trout pattern I just been buying line thru trouts. Cheaper and does have some good action to it.

interesting thought. $1k seems like a lot but...

in todays age you could find the queen with FFS...you are locked on, you can see how big she is, just sitting out there 60 ft of the port bow...how much would you pay for a lure to catch that fish?

Your already throwing on a combo that cost more, to a fish you found with electronics that cost way more, while in a boat that got towed there by a truck that costs way way more...

Touche'.
As lure prices rise...I think maybe starting an Insurance Company for said $$$ baits and equipment might be a viable idea.
