Posts: 105 Location: Alberta Canada | Looking to add another rod to the arsenal because it looks like my wife might steal one of my present ones. She has been eyeing it up since our trip to northern Saskatchewan Do to my location I can’t just go to the store and check them out as options are very limited to none existent so I have to gamble on ordering one in without checking it out I prefer a rod between 7”6-8”6 and 2piece because it will be transported inside the cab of my truck. I also find longer rods comber some for kayak fishing which is majority of my fishing. I am usually casting jerk baits and swimbaits in the 2-8oz range so h-xh fast action rod I have been using a rapala musky magnum rod for this purpose that works but I have had to repair the butt already once and it’s really just a meh rod. Unfortunately it seems like most are 1piece and that is just not an option for me. If I can’t find something to fit my needs it’s going to be time to get one built

Posts: 72 | custom. Pac Bay makes a 8'3" 2 piece rod that would work well.

I have a 7ft mh st criox but It appears all the models in within the specs I am looking for are one piece Tackle industries is definitely an option if I choose to go a little longer or cut one One thing is for sure 2 piece rod options are limited

Location: PA Angler | Just to throw this out there it’s not hard making one. Didn’t want to spend all that money on a fly rod so I bought a blank and kit. Not very hard to wrap just time consuming. Everything else is just glueing parts together.

Only reason I am trying to avoid building a rod is I have too many hobbies already and I probably couldn’t stop at just one rod lol. You are tempting me with something I have debated for some time My lure making has already taken over a bedroom in the basement and a shop, I have a room for hunting and fishing gear and let’s not get into bows/firearms I will need a bigger house if I start any new hobbies

Location: PA Angler | Haha. I hear ya. Sure can be some expensive hobbies as well. I got totes filled with fly tying stuff , plastic lure making, and rod building stuff. Now onto a new one with a 3d pen and trying to make lures with it lol. I’m sure a custom one will be very nice and I’m sure you’ll be happy with it.

Posts: 54 | Try Cabela's or Bass Pro. They have several two piece models in both spinning and casting and 8-9 ft.
