I write with my left hand (and do other handed-ness things lefty as well). However, I throw a baseball with my right hand. Weird eh?

Since I'm sort of ambidextrous, I ordered a Penn Fathom II linecounter lefty at Midway $130 off. Haven't fished it yet but very impressed with maintainability, strength (all-metal) and 30lb drag.

That special ended but now Midway has the plain level wind lefty for $59% off. I ordered one of those too.

Cross-handedness isn't weird. Especially if your parents were opposites. Left handed mom, right handed dad.

Write, bat, golf right handed.

Bowl, throw, shoot pool, rifles and shotguns left but pistols and bows right. Right eye dominant so at shotguns and pool I suck. Go figure.

All reels, whether spinning or baitcast, left handed.

Now the weird part...very mechanically inclined, use all tools equally well whether right or left handed. Doesn't matter whether it's rackets, wrenches, screwdrivers or any other tool (except hammers where I'd prefer using my right).

To make sure this isn't a complete hijack, just picked up a Okuma Cold Water Line Counter 200 left hand for $79 on sale. Have two other 300 Cold Waters for trolling. Ohio just allowed us to go to 3 rods per person.

this year most of my Stripers came on old Tekota 500LC and 600LC. Fantastic reels! They go back to Shimano for service this weekend. Soon Shimano will not service them since they released the dubious Tekota A.

trying the Penn as an alternative. 30lb drag, thinking Bunkers spoons, or trolling Pounders with keel weights for stinking, slimy Muskies. (Love em, both but Stripers are cleaner, smell better, fight hard/harder, and much easier to handle/release quickly)

Never wondered for a minute what it would be like to be right handed...

LOL! I can't imagine being "one" handed for everything. When I payed racquetball, I used to use both hands, switching off whenever it was more advantageous. Was years before I found out you could only use one.

My Mom had a porcelain sign on the wall: "Everyone is born right handed. Only the strong overcome it."

I can't either. The only two things I do solely with one hand, are handwriting, and using a spoon or fork(left hand). Everything else is either or.

I have taught myself to cast with either hand, and I think it was worth the effort. Started back about 7 years ago when I smashed my left hand up in shop accident, stitches in all 5 fingers, broken bone and severed tendon in my middle finger. Healed really well but despite vigorous therapy, exercise, still kind of stiff. Got a left handed casting reel because I found it easier to reel with my left hand than to try and manipulate the reel/rod with my left hand. While I still have a couple right handed reels, they get used when I switch up to prevent fatigue or guests are using.
Not sure how we all got sold on the idea of right handed bait casters when many of us grew up using spinning reels with the handle on the left side and found it easy to do.
