Looking for recommendations on a drive to lodge with good rental boats. I know AML and Eagle will come up, but I'm not interested in going there(Eagle). Thanks.

If you are interested in LOTW, I'd recommend Angle Outpost in the NW Angle. Enjoyed our stays there. If you are looking at Morson, I've heard good things about Mylies. In the NE section of LOTW, check out Witch Bay.

Thanks for the LOTW suggestions. I'd really like to visit Canyon sometime, but none of the lodges have good rentals last I asked. I suppose I don't have my heart set on any particular lake, just kind of curious as to what drive in lodges have been people's favorite in the past.

Our favorite for many years is/was Big North Lodge north of Kenora on the Winnipeg River system. Great people period! A little off the road but no problem getting to it. You can always find areas to fish in any weather.

Canadian lodges in general don’t have great rentals, because people are brutal on rented boats and equipment in Canada.. They don’t own it, don’t care, and don’t pay attention to lake maps. It’s not sand or mud like Wisconsin, it’s rock.

Andy Meyers and Temple Bay rent awesome Kingfishers. Red wings Lodge on LOTW used to have Tuffy Rentals.

The one time I fished Lake Of The Woods we stayed at Red Wing and rented a Tuffy nice boat except for it leaked. We stayed in Minaki five times Paradise 1 twice, Paradise II twice, and Paradise Point once. All owned by the same guy and all nice except either 1 or II is by the lodge and the bar can get loud and stay loud all night.

Sunset lodge on LOTW has 17ft lund rentals. They are on oak island but they can shuttle from young's bay.

I would think a resort on Cliff, Cedar, or Perrault would have a good rental option for you. (By that I mean a 17' tiller with a 50-75hp motor and an electric bow mount). Wabigoon might be another lake to check out, too.

That's pretty much what I mean by good rental boats. Something with a 25HP(or bigger) tiller, 17ft, and a bow mounted trolling motor and I'm good.

If you want to try Whitefish Bay, Tomahawk Resort has incredible rentals. All basically brand new Lunds in various sizes.

You can make a run NW to get to dirtier water too.

Cliff Lake Resorts has what you are looking for, and a really great multi-species lake with some really big muskies.

Cliff Lake has a great boat upgrade to the 17ft Crestliner with 50Hp(?) Yamaha with a Helix 7 and with a MinnKota PD trolling motor. We upgraded to this boat when we were there and were so thankful we did. Also, if you aren't in the mood for musky fishing, you get two down riggers with the boat and can do catch some Lake Trout. It is a lot of fun and they were delicious. I had the biggest musky I have ever seen follow a laker in when we were trolling. That fish was all of 55 inches. Tyler and Sara are awesome people.

Pls also check out Red Wing Lodge near Morson, Ont. Many fish caught there recently, good equipment and running water. m

Just returned Saturday from a trip to Wabigoon. Stayed at Bonny Bay on north side. The new owners, Cynthia and Len are pumping some money into the resort. All new docks with electric and cords for each boat. They have 17 ft Lund’s and Crestliner’s for their camp boats with 50 hp Yamaha power, MinnKota bow mount trolling motors. Each guest gets 2 dozen free minnows, crawlers or leeches per day. Included in their fishing packages is 20 gallons in free gas as well, even if you bring your own boat! Great fishing near the resort and town is just 8 miles away should you need anything. Nice camp!
