I was poking around the internet yesterday in the Wisconsin Outdoor News there was a article in the most popular "Near 60" Muskie caught in Henderson Harbor." Perhaps someone who was more computer skill then I could post a link. And yes it was caught by a Walleye fishermen.

Is this the one you're referring to?

Fake news. Been going around for a while tricking everyone. Saw another pic of it that shows it's 51-52. Photo was deleted after everyone tore it apart.

that fish went from 60, to 59 7/8, to 57 in a few days. I would also bet the farm its actual length was low 50s maybe 53 - awesome fish but nowhere near upper 50s. I'm sure it's the biggest fish these guys have ever seen let alone landed and excitement made their eyes exaggerate...If I had to guess, it was either a guessed length or measured poorly using some random object in the boat to get an "approximate" length that was clearly very inaccurate.

No worries, I had heard about the fish but didn't know it was exaggerated, so now we know!

Other photos of this fish were floating around of the fish held vertically. Unless the man holding it is well , and I mean well , over six feet tall the fish isn’t 59-60-58ish inches . The head would need to be at shoulder height and tail barely off the ground for it to be remotely possible. Every year there is this nonsense that happens in the musky world, with everything available nowadays to measure fish I find it hard to believe that they had nothing in the boat . And I would add if you’re going to make a claim of a fish that size you best back it up with proof and lots of it .

A friend sent me the other photo. Amazing what camera angle and lens can do. Just ask 'Ol Louie!
