| I'm interested in trying some lures when I'm fishing site for trout in the Duck Creek area. I've never really fished with lures before only bait so I'm not sure which ones would be best to try. Can someone recommend some good lures for me to try? |

| Holy loaded question Barenda! Not sure which Deer Creek you’re talking about, there’s a few out there. So size is going to depend on how big the fish get in your particular Duck Creek. Good places to start are small in line spinners (panther martins, rooster tails, etc…), spoons like kastmasters, jigs with twister tails, stick style cranks. I’ve also found small tubes like you might use for smallies work well, if the fish are smaller a crappie tube may be better. That’s a good place to start, and chances are you may have some of those already for other species. Good luck. |

| Start with Mepps sized 0-3 undressed or Panther Martain, small 1"-21/2" Rapala both floating and countdown, and small tube jig (Crappie sized.) and if you are not going to keep them pinch down the barbs. |

| Nice thing about trout sized panther Martin is that the blade will spin easily retrieved with the current. I took o e to Alaska and caught my first cutthroat on second cast. |

| all you need,,,find the brightest or shiniest silver spinner the most chrome bright one in a 0-1 SIZE,,actually KMART made the best ones believe it or not but I cant find those anymore,,MEPPS will work but theres more chrome ones available,
fish down stream with your casts straight across "important-keep your rod tip pointed downstream" and retrieve just a tick faster then the current has it quarters across creek/stream. one of the things you have to be mindfull of fishing downstream is not to kick up mud or debris so it gets into the current and puts the fish down.
and please,please pinch down the barbs on the hooks so its easier to release the smaller or ones you don't want to keep. |

| actually if anybody knows where I can get ultra bright spinners pre made I prefer,,but I would also buy just blades,,im talking about GLEAMMING chrome like you would see on hot rod collector cars. |

Location: Central Pennsylvania | small spinners, as mentioned. I'm also a big fan of yo zuri pins minnows, and small rapalas. small tubes work well and so do hair jigs. Lots of options cause the truck trout don't usually tend to be the smartest. |

Location: SE, WI. | Some very good suggestions already. Spinners work very good. Cranks, Jig/Gulp. Corn, Marshmellos a good 1, squid, wax worms either real or Gulp, salted minnows. Shad style swim baits. I have several Vibrax and Mepps,+ small trout cranks for sale on BST board. JD
