Posts: 330 Location: SE Wisc | Wondering your thoughts on the best or favorite slow sinking glider that has minimal forward movement and longer glides. I have Phantoms and a Manta, just wondering if I’m missing out of something that would be better for tempting fish out of heavy cover?

Posts: 8721 | I like the old HR's if you can find them. With a little finesse you can pull them and get them to kick out and just sort of hang there. The straight cadence side to side thing that most people do isn't much of a trigger in my experience.

Posts: 3136 | similar to what TODDC said,,when theres a coldfront I always reach for a JERKO not Squirko,,the key is slooooow with just taps like you would be nailing an expensive piece of wood trim not wanting it to crack and lots of slack to give it the freedom to glide and roll,,if you can find one that rocks back and forth on glide you got a coldfront go to.,,not a good tactic if theres waves and wind though.

Posts: 490 Location: NW WI | You used to be able to find these multi jointed swimbaits all over the place on Amazon and Ebay under all kinds of different brand names, all out of different parts of East Asia for about $10. I did some scouring and they're hard to find now. 1 ebay seller has some, and Florida company "Alternative Fishing Lures", is supposedly manufacturing theirs. Anyhow, I like em for their versatility. You can cadence jerk and they'll glide, straight retrieve, or my favorite- total random combo of subtle twitches which makes the joints move without the bait moving much, followed by a few hard glide jerks going into a short slow straight retrieve, pause, repeat.
