Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the 20/20’s. Specifically the telescopic models. I’m on the fence of buying one, but just not sure if there’d be any down side to a telescoping rod! Thanks

Great rods, but if you are used to St. Croix power ratings and curves, go heavier than you think. My big nasty is stiffer than the 9’ shock n awe 20/20

As to the telescoping aspect, I have Okuma and TI that are telescoping rods and have not had any problem. Need to keep the lower section clean and dry for storage but that is about it.

I wouldn't be concerned with the telescopic aspect. I've had no issues with telescopic rods from Okuma, Shimano, and Fenwick. I probably would avoid leaving them in the extended position for long periods of time. I collapse them at the end of each day.

The Chaos rods have a moderate-fast action. They load a bit different than the more typical fast action. This also affects the amount of bend the rod exhibits as you bring a hard-pulling bait into the figure eight. There are pluses and minuses to it, so what is right for you depends on your preferences.

Well, I broke the tip off of mine about a year after I bought it. I was pretty sure I'd stepped on it while fighting a fish in my boat with a different rod, so I was just asking about how to find a replacement. Rick had me send a picture to see whether it may have been a warranty replacement due to a defect. It wasn't, but he had no issue sending a replacement at cost even though it was my bad.

I can't comment on whether he was happy doing it or not, but he sure didn't grumble about it. He treated me more than fairly, and that's really all I could ask.
