Inspired by the annoying ads on Yahoo that say:
"I love you more than beer; my other girlfriends; beer" I was going to compose a card to me wife for this Saturday. Now, she'll know I'm lyin if I tell her I love her more than muskie fishing. So, some candidates for a touching sentiment now include:

I love you more than seeing a 48 inch fish after a ten inch Jake
I love you more than seeing a big set of jaws behind a Topraider
A day with you is better than 4 days at Cave Run in 40* water

I've already ruled out, "You're bottom's prettier than Shady's" for obvious reasons! That's just wrong on too many levels.

Any other suggestions would be very welcome, I've got to work past this writers block. thanks, m

I will be with my true love on Valentine's day. The ice has left stream x, I will be hoping to meet the big girl of my dreams.

Shep, not a bad start but I think you might want to do a redraft before springing on the significant other on Saturday.

Are you my missing brother? What a statement. My wife for 23 years has been listening to "I loved Her more than fishing", for Valentines Day I've been giving a dozen Jakes in various colors and a year subscription to Muskie mag. We have to fish together.

This one is for Sue!

I love my valentine with a 'muskie' heart,
It is she I think of as each trip I start,
with the first cast I Exclaim,
As the lure sails,
Our Muskie Love shall forever prevail,
Sweetheart, you are Mine, weather dry or wet,
Just be ready when I holler...
There she IS ,get the NET!

Mikie,

"I've already ruled out, "You're bottom's prettier than Shady's" for obvious reasons! That's just wrong on too many levels"

The hard water period is the time to lavish the significant other with all you can. Believe me, it pays dividends come soft water time. After 34 years with the same gal, I've learned to give a lot during this time of the year, in order to get a lot during the warmer months.

Thant's kinda what I figured, a little sweetness today may go a long way tomorrow.
Steve, I was touched by your poetry, you've missed your calling, I think. Trouble is, my wife does not fish and when I tried a few of these out on her last night, well, things didn't go as well as I suspected.m

Here's a winner for ya...

Bucktails are red,
crankbaits are blue,
You must be a jerkbait,
Cause I'm hooked on you.
