The Rural Republic is a social discussion, learning, and sharing platform for people who enjoy the rural way of life. TRR includes a traditional web-site component and soon-to-be-available native iOS and Android apps for a seamless cross-device experience. TRR combines a social media components with niche topic groups and forums dictated by end users and creators.
To our account holders and content creators:
Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are on an aggressive trajectory toward removal of fishing, trapping and shooting sports content from their platforms. Also on the chopping block are ideas that do not align with their narrow set of values. The Rural Republic platform is not a 1:1 replacement for these platforms, but an OutdoorsFIRST addition and alternative where this type of content is welcomed, protected, and preserved.
These platforms also penalize content that does not solely originate from within their ecosystem. For example, a video posted to a social media account from a content creator’s YouTube channel will not perform as well as a video uploaded directly from within the social media platform itself. Embed or cross-platform/cross-promotional penalties do not exist on TRR.
To our advertisers:
Anyone who has purchased advertising on traditional social media owns that getting an ad sanitized to the point of approval is getting increasingly difficult – sometime impossible for certain types of products – and each time you run the risk of complete removal from the platform. All this while investing thousands of dollars without any sort of explanation and without the ability to contact anyone.
On traditional social media, your pay to obtain followers, then your posts to those same followers are throttled with the intention of maximizing the platform’s profit vs your ability to once again pay to reach the same followers (that you already paid to obtain). On The Rural Republic your posts reach all of your followers. In-app advertising to The Rural Republic audience is simplified due to the fact that the audience is prequalified by virtue of being on the niche platform in the first place.
You can create private or public groups, upload any size image, link in any YouTube video that will play in the current window with no redirect or upload the video directly to the timeline. You may join any of the forums which will include all the OFM sites. Moderation will be light, all we will ask is semi-reasonable behavior. Private groups will moderate themselves. Posting a YouTube video of course will add views directly to your YT channel with zero restriction. We'll also be introducing a channel where instructors, guides, fishing clubs, etc. can hold instructional events both paid and unpaid, up to each person/organization.
