| How many of you are NOT deer hunting, and instead, chasing the muskies right up to the bitter end? ( WIsconsin's season closes the end of November) I will be in a tower stand at sunrise with my 7mm Mag sighted in 1" high at 200...GO AHEAD, 12 POINTER; STEP OUT AT 300 and MAKE MY day...160 grain Nosler Partitions...I am really looking forward to the deer season this year! If I take a buck early, though, I will be on the water, for sure![] | |||

| I shoot the same round. Those Nostler partitions sure are accurate. I’m sighted 1” high at 100 yards though. I believe I’d have to hold about 8” over at 300. Forecast is calling for a warm weekend. May need to pack some shorts. Good Luck to all hunters! [:)] Sad part is that on my way up I’m dropping the boat off at her winter home. [:((] | |||

| Going out as long as possible! Can't give up the ski hunt! You guys out there, please bag a truckfull of those deer. There are just too many of them up here. I spun one a week ago. Just thankful no damage to my Blazer. Rob | |||

| Steve- Hunting north of Necedah opening weekend. Hope to be done on Saturday and fishing by Monday. I may take an outing or two during the week with local friends just to keep old friendships kindled. Buuut, I plan on fishing for a good part of the week if all goes well. Good luck to all and above all "Safe hunt to you and your party!!" Scott | |||

| I will be in Buffalo Co. WI and hopefully I will drop a deer or two with my 12 gauge. | |||

| I'm only hunting opening weekend to do the traditional hunt thing with my dad. After that I'm on the water all week. I can't wait. Anyone interested in sharing a boat around the Minoqua area contact me at [email protected] | |||

| Lock and load... I am ready to rock some poor deers world.. My 25-06 is dead on balls accurate at 100 yards. Last year three rounds, three dead deer in Wisconsin.[] I want to get done right away and get back on the water.[;)] | |||

| Really hoping to drop that buck early on Saturday then help out my dad who is still at it this year at 80. Hope he gets a crack at one as well. I may get on the water after Thanksgiving, weather permiting. But as long as dad wants to hunt thats what I'll be doing. [] Good Luck to all you buck slayers and ski releasers. Mike, Let EM GO...Let Em Grow.....the Muskies that is, I don't think that shoot and release would be a good policy See Ya [] | |||

| muskyone- Put Dad on the hot spot! [][] Mine passed away two years ago at 83 from Alzheimers. I'll never forget our last hunt or the twinkle in his eyes as I field dressed his buck. Hunting was his passion, he was a crack shot and loved chasing whitetails. Kinda took the wind outta my sails. I still can't pick up my gun (Jason - I shoot a sporterized Springfield 30-06 (my dad's old nail driver), not quite as flat as your 26-06. But if you know the gun +300 yd shots aren't impossible.) I grew up on a WI dairy farm & have hunted whitetails all my life + spent 14 years in US Army. Those + 300 meter targets were my favorites (love those military peep sights). Hope all you guys get a crack at a trophy. Think I'll chase a few Muskies. [:p] Had to cancel Lac Courte Oreilles last week, think I'll hit it this weekend. Just gotta try one of the water's where Louis Spray took one of his WR Muskies. [8)] "It's your choice to Catch'em & Let'em Go!"[:sun:] ....>..... | |||

| I'll be in the stand by 6:00...Orange swimming suit and all dolled up..[] If lucky enough to get that buck early I'll be in the boat by Sunday. Good luck guys and have a safe season..... Mark "Curly" Musky Adventures Eau Claire, WI | |||

| Jason, that is quite an accomplishment! You forgot to mention that all three were shot in July! (before the violators got at them no doubt!!) | |||

| With my 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip 7MM Mag.'s sighted in 2" high at 100 yards, I'm set. The only problem is that the adjacent land owners are anti hunting. I can't get into big acreage until Thanksgiving Day. Good luck everybody! | |||

| I am on my own land, thank goodness, and have a great spot set up. Had a big 6 there yesterday, so maybe the boys with the big racks will pay me a visit, one at a time... | |||

| The best of both worlds. Hunting out of the boat while dragging suckers. Been doing this for the last 4 years and the results have been interesting. Two years ago I doubled on a six pointer and a 45" on opening day. Can't believe more of you don't try. In N. Wis. it's so easy to find good lakes with surrounding county land. Hardly anyone hunts the hillsides by the lakes and the deer sure aren't spooked by the boat. With projected temps. in the 60's this weekend I might have to dye a T-shirt orange. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?? Life is gooood!--at least until the end of Nov. Godd luck to all. | |||
