Posts: 5874 | Even my trusty F150 is protesting the weather the last few days. Lots of creaks and squeaks coming from the front end! Glad I purchased that new battery from Remy back in Novemeber!

Posts: 129 Location: Bemidji, MN- | It's 32 below here in Bemidji, and about 50 below with the wind chill. My dog Bridget, who usually likes long walks even when it's cold, is doing the potty thing in a minute or two and running back to the house. Fortunately, it is supposed to warm up enough on Sunday for us to go into town and get a pizza for the SuperBowl.

Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | Even in the tropical climate of SE Wisconsin, I'm considering climbing into my chest freezer to warm up! It is -14 on my outside thermometer.

Posts: 2361 | Oh, I LOVE these stories. Reinforces my decision that the 7 hour WI summer isn't worth the 7 months of winter.

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | fsf, We love this stuff. The complaining is all about the suffering, which we actually moved here to experience. Those who have been here their entire lives and did not leave have no idea what you refer to. If they did, they would be looking at you over your morning coffee in the local diner.

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | AHHHHHH, yes, 6 hours on the ice outside the Frabill, and NO FROZEN EXTREMITIES!! Was mid-20's here today. Still, it was windy so Sue stayed in the Ranger while I moved around looking for an active school of Crappies. Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | And for today? SNOW!! We are to get about 8" or so, maybe a bit less. Everytime it warms up enough to be outside, we get blasted. This is VERY good for the Northern Wisconsin economy, though. Snowmobiling had all but disappeared here the last three winters. I always worry about the deer herd, but it's late enough now they will make it through just fine no matter what the snow levels.

Posts: 341 | I was ice fishing on 1/30. If you were up in the U.P. then you know we need to get our heads examined. -20 without wind chill. We lasted 9 hours and was only rewarded with 2 pikes. At the end of the day I was so used to the cold or half frozen that I didn't need my gloves to clean the holes. Even our snowmobiles didn't want to work...I kept reminding myself this would be considered a heat wave to a Siberian. Damn walleyes!!! Edited by muskycore 2/2/2004 1:07 PM
