Posts: 2 Location: kansas-wis | Good Day.My Name Is John Mozingo Board Member Of United Special Sportsmen Alliance We where Hopping you might help make a dream come true... United Special Sportsmen Alliance (U.S.S.A.) is a non-profit organization that coordinates Hunting and Fishing Trips for Disabled and Terminally Ill kids all over the United States. We've coordinated approximately 281 trips over the last year 2003 at little or no cost to the participant. A parent, family member, guardian or caretaker is always welcome and encouraged to participate. All of our hunting and fishing trips are donated by independent landowners, game ranchers, shooting preserves large and small and guide outfitters and many caring individuals like you. To date our hunts have been quite varied: Deer, Elk, Bear, Hog, Turkey, Deer, and Bison, we welcome all types of hunting and fishing experiences. All of our hunts include individuals who are in wheel chairs, recovering from a lung transplants, have cystic fibrosis, or muscular dystrophy, spinal bifida, visually impaired, paralyzed, just to name a few. We're getting more donations everyday and try to match them up to special kids as quickly as we can. We need your help with donations of any kind and in recruiting more terminally ill or disabled kids that would be interested in a trip of this kind. We put trips on all around the If you can help by donating in any way fishing - hunting trips or by referring kids, it would be most helpful. Brigid O'Donoghue, President of USSA has been helping kids for three years. In the last year we have grown more than we ever imagined. Our major sponsors are-Northland Cranberries-Matthews Solocam-Whitetails Unlimited-Safari Club International [SCI] chapters in Kansas-Minnesota-Missouri-Buckmasters-Bass Pro, and land owners nationwide. We are associated with a lot of other organizations assisting the disabled and receive a lot of private donations of items from different companies. We have a lot of generous people donating hunts but we always need more. Don't forget that we can always use help with the travel and lodging expenses, medical personnel to accompany the more serious cases is always appreciated, private and fully guided from all over. We have been featured in Boar Hunting Magazine-Texas Trophy Hunter Magazine-Bear Hunting Magazine-Whitetail Fanatic and several Newspapers. We have been televised on the Outdoor Channel and have more scheduled tapings in the future. We've been on a variety of Radio talk shows, including the John Boy and Billy radio show, ESPN and many others. In conclusion, if you would like to donated a hunt, be a guide or know of a terminally ill or disabled child please contact me directly at: (620) 236-4266 or email at: [email protected] For your review: USSA: http://www.deerfood.com/ussa.htm Hunts and fishing trips granted through USSA http://www.deer-forums.com/discus/messages/2109/2109.html?105027906... Posts: 66 Location: Wales Wi. | Hi John..my name is Howie Knapp and I work at a treatment center in south east Wi. called Lad Lake. Every year I have a fishing tournament for our boys(about 60),here on our private lake. There is always room for one more..I have alot of fishermen,(some of them guides)donate there time and take the boys out, we also have some boats of our own. This is not a money contest but every boy walks away with something.rods, reels ext. Our goal is to give our at risk kids some fishing experience, most of them have never been in a boat before. The contest date for this year is not set yet but it will be in June. You can contact me at [email protected] #262-965-2131 ext.274

Posts: 87 Location: michigan | I have been involved with helping disabled kids enjoy the outdoors for a few years now. If you have never done it you should try it, there is nothing like seeing the happiness and joy brought to these kids. If you need someone in the Lake St. Clair area for fishing or hunting give me a call. For hunting we have developed a way to take wheelechair bound hunters out for a day of pheasant hunting. This is done on a preserve (700 acres no fences) on Harsens Island (Michigan) the hunters ride in a one of a kind platform attached to the front of a pickup truck (only legal for disabled) with thier wheelchairs and any other needed equipment securly strapped in they follow our pointers through the sourghum and corn fields, when a dog goes on point the truck is shut off , the hunters load thier guns and the guide flushes the birds. This can be viewed at the website for harsens island hunt club http://www.hiphp.com
