Posts: 477 Location: Iowa | Just wanted to get some feedback on these reels. Has anyone had problems with them, or are they worth checking out. I'm already really partial to Garcia, but wanted some opinions before I purchase this particular one. Thanks.

Posts: 114 Location: Eagle Grove, Iowa | Shawn, I have used many different reels on the market and i feel the 6600 morrum is the best i used . It cast like a dream i spolled 80# power pro on and it will cast a mile . I have had it only 1 year but no problems yet. They are spendy though but if they hold up for years its worth it. Tracy

Posts: 670 Location: Minnetonka , MN. | I had one and had a lot of problems. I replaced it with a Calcutta but I gave it one last shot and sent it to the factory repair in IA. They got it back fast and it feels good. I will fing out in March when I bring it to the Cave. When it works it's a good reel. I might add I'm hard on reels. For the money I would get a Calcutta

Posts: 267 Location: Right behind you (tap, tap) BOOO | I bought the 5600 last spring and have had no problems with it at all. At first I didn't think I was going to like that the level wind didn't move on the 5600 but it turned out not to be a problem and hasn't effected my casting distance at all, actually I think this reel out casts my out 4 Abu reels. If you are looking for one check ebay, I picked mine up brand new in the box for $100 shipped. Esox23

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | I have two of them and really like em alot. i have had problems with them similar to other reels though. the thumbar has broken on both of them over four years use, the cast control has broken on one, and the bait clicker broke on one. Also the paddle on both handles have popped off a time or two(I fixed them with super glue two seasons ago and they are just fine). This is not uncommon for me, and I have had the smame things go wrong with my other ABUS and Shimanos. I use the 5600's for hundreds of hours each season, and they have serviced me well. Just got them both back with new drags and worm gears so I'll be ready for 04. 2003 saw really no problems with either one, and I can't wait to crack a few hawgs on them again this year!
