Location: Illinois-Indiana | I was wondering what everyones take is on the reverse tie bucktails, has anyone used them and what did you think of them. I have used them and the hair has some great action, they also cast a LOT better because the hair doesn't get caught by the wind.

Posts: 389 Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | Hi Ralph, I bought a couple and also like the hair action, although I had to trim the hair back a little on a few I also added a Gapen tail on the hook for additional action and bought the double bladed variety and squeezed another small lead weight onto the shaft so I can speed reel it on the retreive and stay sub-surface. This combo was very good for me ,although I picked them up at the latter half of the bucktail season.I like the concept a lot and have always tried to get more body"action" by using the same set up described with regular marabou tails.

Posts: 1046 | What I tried I did not like as I thought that they were way to light. Maybe I just like my old stand-bys that I know how to trigger fish with.I really like new baits and have great success with many but have not seen any new hair that really impressed me other then the BaitMaker and Hellraiser and they are not really that new as I have been using them for 3 seasons already!Maybe stuck in a rut but I just keep getting my old ones re-built!

Posts: 20218 Location: oswego, il | The reverse tie lets the hair pulsate a little better because the water gets to it better. As far as double blades go, some can be hard to get started and some can create a whale of drag. Make sure you test a double blade creation before you start selling them.

Posts: 46 | Musky Mania makes their bulger with a reverse bucktail. It does start really easy and doesn't pull hard. I've found it good for "regular" bucktail use. Anyone else have experience with this bait? Sneaky Pete, I think it's called.
