I think a lot of people run the Navionics chip. The water is low again this year so I wouldn't trust any chip fully. Best bet is have whatever camp you stay at mark a map. A lot of the reefs normally marked weren't yet this year but I imagine that might change when the border opens and camp boats are on the water.

navionics has a chip but its not high definition, its only good to see the layout of the lake. all the resort owners they mark all the underwater hazard with plastic bottles, the first time I went there I took it slow and marked all the hazard the area that I wanted to fish, be very careful until you learn the section of the lake you want to fish. also go on google earth you can see a lot of underwater hazard and good places to fish, you may have to play with different historical data to get some good clear shots, I fish the north end and west arm lots of good clear satellite pic
underwater hazard, rocks and boulders

How bout lakemaster ontario v2? Is it any better than v1? I ran v1 in 2019 on eagle and was not impressed.

The one time I fished Red Wing Lodge on Lake Of The Woods the resort owner meet with every person in the crew and went over all the hazards not marked on the map and what landmarks to look for to get back to camp. (this was 1993) Nobody hit anything and one guy got lost! Dad and I missed the cutoff to get back to camp the first day found a buoy got the number off the buoy and plugged it into our map and got back. Plot your course. Last time in Minaki (2004) a lot of guy's were complaining that reef's down on Lake Of The Woods were no longer marked. Due to man power or whatever.

for what I know from a guide on Eagle Lake Canada Interior will not let mapping co. do a high definition mapping of the lake, purchased many paper maps and none are any good, one map that is alitle ok is Fishing Hot Spots, does not have high def counours
the only way is to map the lake on your own and look for all the plastic jugs placed on rock piles

Look for the rocks that don’t have jugs on them too!

Over the past several years I have found the Navionics Ontario sd card is more accurate than the lakemaster. I run both. That being said both have significant errors or omissions.

Humminbird was mapping when we were up there last week. Kinda comical watchin them beach their boats on rocks. Amazing that they had no concern for their equipment. A couple guys from our group chatted with one of the boats and rumor has it that 2024 we may see a product…

Yep, I watched them all week, always had 1 to 2 boats in the area I was fishing, watched them drive in 2 or less feet of water mapping. Word was they brought a ton of extra lower units and spare motors to replace the ones damaged in the mapping driving onto reefs and over shallow points.
