Posts: 351 Location: Vilas County, WI | Looking for feedback or suggestions for a youth size, musky capable, baitcaster. I have two boys that are switching over from spinning reels - we played around with the displays at Rollies and 300 series, low profile, or slightly smaller would serve them well. Also looking for a middle of the road gear ratio. And lastly, nothing expensive. Based on the feedback here I probably will be posting a WTB ad for a couple reels on the classifieds, so feel free to PM if you want to unload a couple. Right handed models. Thanks, Show

Posts: 757 | Piscifun Alijos 300. Used mine last month for big pike. Casts well, smooth retrieves, and seems rugged and durable. Best part is they are around $100.00 bucks. Kast King also came out with a Royal Legend 200 sized reel for $70.00, if you still prefer a slightly smaller but muskie capable reel. Kdawg

Posts: 264 | I'll throw in for the Alijos too. Great reel and the price can't be beat. I've have one and will be looking to add. I think they are having a sale of some kind right now too. Talmooner

Posts: 25 Location: South Central PA | If you go Piscifun official site they have a fathers day code for 20% off if you spend over 159.00 dollars. This would let you buy 2 Alijoz for 80 dollars each. Plus you can choose a single handle or a double. I don't have one but have been tempted at that great price point especially due to my son does alot of wade fishing with my expensive Toro Beasts. He has went thru 2 ABU NACI in 4 years just from the sand and grit. Plus I would like to hear more reviews about the Piscifun Alijoz before Father's day to get the sale price. At 80.00 I'm not expecting them to cast or to be as smooth as Tranx or Toros - more on longevity before they are total crap and I turn them into flathead reels. Thanks, Tim

Posts: 72 | I started my kid at 7 with a lews baitcaster with 40lb braid on a 6'6" rod throwing lighter baits. Hasn't been an issue yet. Upgraded this year to a 7'2" with another lews and 50lb braid. Honestly I really like using them too, so light!

Posts: 318 | I have gear locked in Canada so decided to add a couple reels. One was a Picifun A 300.Tried it today on my 'surface' rod and it is great so far.Nice look and great feel to it.Fatty B has never flown as far before. At $99 it's a bit scary to recommend but if it continues to act as it did today,it will have company.
